Words of Welcome
Dear Colleagues and Friends,
On behalf of the Scientific Committee and the Local Organising Committee, we would like to cordially invite all of you to attend the 4th International Symposium on Molecular Allergology (ISMA 2010) in Munich. The Symposium is promoted by the Interest Groups Allergy Diagnosis (IGAD) and Food Allergy and supported as well as co-organised by the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI). The tremendous success of the previous ISMA meetings in 2006 and 2007 in Rome and 2008 in Salzburg encouraged EAACI to promote ISMA to one of the official thematic EAACI mini-congresses for the first time in 2010.
The Symposium will cover basic, translational and clinical aspects of allergenic molecules with special emphasis on the transition from classical “extract-based” to “molecule-based” allergology. We are extremely honoured and privileged to have several Keynote speakers from top level international institutions in the field of molecular allergy research.
We will welcome you in the heart of the Bavarian capital Munich in the recently renovated lecture hall buildings of the Faculty of Medicine/Klinikum rechts der Isar, the clinical campus of the Technische Universität München (TUM) – just a stone throw away from the Maximilianeum, home to the parliament of the German Federal State of Bavaria. Munich, the city of the Oktoberfest, of the 1972 Summer Olympics and nowadays one of the largest European life science clusters, is a modern and technology-oriented city which has preserved many of its original traditions. We recommend that you explore the rich socio-cultural, historic and modern-life aspects of Munich during your time at the meeting and choose from the exceptional range of activities traditionally offered in Munich.
We look forward to seeing you at ISMA 2010 in Munich.
